Our Story

Delicious Home Made Authentic Indian Food.

Welcome to Maata's Kitchen. Let us introduce ourselves…

Maata (our mum) is the inspiration and head chef behind our family business. She comes from an Indian background, was born in Yala Kenya and migrated over to the UK in 1975 and settled down in the East End of London. Inspired by her mother from a young age, she learnt to master the Indian Cuisine using her mothers influence and whilst experimenting and adding her own style to traditional dishes. Over the years Maata continues to be creative with different dishes and styles, combing a mixture of flavours and cooking techniques - this is what lead to the launch of Maata’s Kitchen, we had to share her amazing food with you!

Sheetal, spending a lot of her time looking after her 4 young boys and running her other business as a make-up artist, she wanted to bring her mother's passion for cooking to life. One day Sheetal had a family meeting and took the plunge to start Maata's kitchen. Sheetal is also one of our chefs along with Maata and is also responsible for helping out with social media, taking orders and quality controlling our dishes. She is a master of researching and loves creating new recipes.

Mukesh, a great kitchen assistant who helps with many things from frying the gathiya to washing the dishes. He is the genius behind our famous masala chai part of our Sunday breakfasts.

Kevin, whilst also working in a full-time job he is always sharing his creative ideas on how we can better your experience, quality controlling our dishes and lending a hand in the kitchen too.

Vishal, our social media, operations and IT guru. Whilst also juggling a part-time IT job and property investing, Vishal takes care of the supplies, social media, payments, creating our menus/website, and helping out in the kitchen. You will meet him often with a smile on his face as he does most of our deliveries.

Kylen, Sheetal’s 10 year old son has always had a passion for cooking. He is regularly going into the kitchen and trying out new dessert recipes, one of the greatest being Crème brûlée (who knows, this could make it onto our menu one day). He makes most of our desserts, including the red velvet cupcakes and chocolate brownies. Kylen is also another one of our kitchen assistants and is usually genuinely so excited to wake up at 6am on Sunday mornings to help prepare and pack our Sunday Breakfast orders for you.

Together, we bring to you Maata's Kitchen; a family run business which strives to deliver you an amazing home food experience with great presentation and full flavours all made with lots of love.

We look forward to serving you in the near future.

From our family to yours x.
